Privacy policy

This policy explains how your personal data is handled when you join the Vael, the Lorekeeper waitlist. We follow a data-minimization principle: we collect only what is strictly necessary to notify you at launch.

Data controller

The data controller is the site publisher, whose details appear in the legal notice: [TO COMPLETE: legal name and address of the data controller]. For any question about your data, email hello@vael-ai.com.

Data we collect

When you join the waitlist, we collect only:

  • your email address;
  • the date and time of your signup;
  • a hash of your IP address, used solely to prevent abuse and automated signups. This hash does not identify you directly and is used for no other purpose.

We collect no other data: no name, no phone number, no advertising profile.

Purpose of processing

Your data is used for a single purpose: to notify you when Vael launches and, if relevant, to share the perks reserved for waitlist members. Your data is never sold or used for third-party advertising.

Legal basis

Processing is based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) of the GDPR), collected at the moment you sign up. You can withdraw it at any time, no questions asked (see “Unsubscribe” and “Your rights” below).

Retention period

Your data is kept until Vael launches, then for a maximum of twelve (12) months afterwards, long enough to send you the launch announcement. It is deleted thereafter. If you unsubscribe before then, your data is deleted without delay.

Recipients and processors

Your data is accessible only to the publisher and to the technical providers strictly necessary to run the service:

  • Hosting: your data is stored on a dedicated server located within the European Union.
  • Email delivery: we use Resend (Resend, Inc.) to deliver the confirmation email and the launch email. This delivery may involve a transfer of data outside the European Union (United States), governed by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses, which ensure an adequate level of protection.

Cookies and analytics

This site uses no advertising cookies and no third-party trackers. Analytics are handled by Umami, a self-hosted, privacy-friendly solution: it works without cookies and without collecting personal data that could identify you. No prior consent is therefore required for these anonymous statistics.

Unsubscribe

You can unsubscribe in a single click using the link included in every email we send you. You may also email us at hello@vael-ai.com and your address will be removed from the list without delay.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights over your personal data at any time:

  • right of access;
  • right to rectification;
  • right to erasure;
  • right to object;
  • right to data portability.

To exercise these rights, email hello@vael-ai.com. If, after contacting us, you believe your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL, the French data protection authority — www.cnil.fr.
